Europe has 12 new qualified mentors

The last workshop for mentors was held on 27th – 28th October 2014 in Vilnius, Lithuania led by Gaby Marcon Clark. The training was focussed on reviewing activities within the mentoring sessions, consolidating learning, providing support to each other, and contributing to the development of the project.

The whole event was a great opportunity to revise the theoretical knowledge the participants had gained as well as to discuss their practical experience as mentors. Each of them was asked to prepare a presentation on one of their mentees as a case study.
Mentors were also asked to give a feedback on the Mentoring Guide in order to contribute to the adaptation of the guide. Its final version will include the most important issues to deal with when designing and running a mentor development training programme and it will be available in four languages in May 2015.

At the end of the event the mentors received certificates confirming their participation in the mentor development training (3 international workshops to develop their mentoring capacities) and gaining theoretical knowledge, skills, techniques and practical experience necessary to become a qualified mentor in the field of Travel, Tourism & Hospitality.

The workshop was conducted within the international project EU Tourism Mentoring which connects five partners across Europe - Slovakia, the United Kingdom, Romania and Lithuania. It focuses on mentoring in the tourism sector. The project is implemented under the Lifelong Learning Programme, namely the Leonardo da Vinci - Transfer of Innovation and has been funded with support from the European Commission.
