On February 15th 2022, Slovak Business Agency joined the Kick-Off Meeting of JUST, a Project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, which brings together 9 Partners from 5 countries (Slovenia, Spain, Italy, Slovakia and Belgium). The KOM was held in online mode.
JUST project – Joint University and Small and medium sized enterprises (SME) Training - aims at bridging the gap between the world of education and the world of work, by bringing together Universities (HEIs) and SMEs to develop coherent, relevant and up-to-date curricula, using microcredentials. As outlined by the EU Commission report on “State of University-Business Cooperation in EU” 2018, the limited collaboration between HEIs and business dramatically reduces: labour market relevance of study programmes, employability of graduates, and ability of universities to produce impactful research. Within such context, partners have decided to offer concrete solutions to foster the university and SMEs collaboration.
During the meeting, the consortium as a whole discussed about the overall project implementation schedule, defining timelines and respective duties. During the first phase, partners will carry out research and analysis activities aimed at identifying needs of HEIs and SMEs to start or boost their collaboration. The results will help partners develop tailored training courses and tools to be uploaded on the JUST Open Educational Resources platform (OER platform), along with other project’s outputs, news and contacts that will be available on the JUST website for individual users, universities, small businesses, and policy makers.
